LOCHGELLY TAE KWON DO NEWSLETTER

2010 newsletter No.5. August 2010.

Grading results/next scheduled grading:

Congratulations to the following 5 students who graded at the Town Hall on Thursday 5th August under Mr. MacGregor and Mr. Scott:

Promoted to 9th Kup (white with yellow tips) Ruadrhi MacDonald and Ronan McGuire

Promoted to 8th Kup (Yellow belt) Ellie Stewart

Promoted to 5th Kup (Green with blue tips) Aidan Early

Promoted to 4th kup (Blue belt) Nicole Wallace

Nicole is the first Lochgelly Tae kwon do student to reach blue belt,  remember the blue colour signifies the sky towards which the plant matures into a towering tree as training in Tae kwon do progresses, and she showed her own  maturing technique and power during the grading.

Recruitment:

Welcome to our latest recruit Kim and let’s hope that she is with us for a long time to come.

Remember that we will give away a free piece of sparring equipment or a do bok for everyone you introduce who obtains their licence). Declan Wallace has  just been given a free pair of sparring gloves because Nicole introduced a  friend.

Competitions:

Master Sutherland plans a competition in Livingston in September, forms will be available early next month.

Do try a competition, they are great fun and a good way to meet people.

Technical seminar & black belt grading:

These will be at The Excite Centre in Broxburn on the 25th and 26th of September. The technical seminar is open to green belts and above and should be  well worth going to, especially as we now have 3 students who can go.

Lochgelly Tae kwon do club news:

We will take part in the Lochgelly Gala on Sunday the 22nd of August. Those  taking part will receive a bag of “stuff” and the club will get a donation, which can go to the club bank account. We will be working on some special  routines for this in the next couple of weeks.
